Be the architect of your own brick blend

A new blended brick service has been launched by Hanson UK to allow architects to create their own bespoke combination of bricks. Up to five brick types (any percentage of each) from Hanson's Wilnecote premium extruded range can be selected from the 20 available to produce an individual blend. Wetherby Transforms North Rowner

Wetherby system has recently transformed 50 private properties in Rowner Gosport under the new Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme. A further 35 are due to be completed shortly. A further 400 are to be considered in the next few months and discussions are in place with homeowner, managing agents, landlords and tenants to extend the ECO opportunities. UPVC Cladding Replaces Timber

A refurbishment programme carried out by Newham Council has seen the improvement of 15 timber framed properties on Douglas Road and Ravenscroft Close in Canning Town, E16. With the aim of improving the thermal insulation of the 1960s pre-fabricated houses, and increasing the sustainable elements of the build, the works included the replacement of the timber cladding with fire retardant PVC-U cladding from Swish Building Products. Pendock and Timloc join forces for Southampton County Council

Sandwell MBC appoint Anglian to Window Term Contract

Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council (MBC) has awarded Anglian Building Products a two year term contract for the replacement of existing single glazed PVC-u windows with double glazed. Worth approximately £2m, the contract is for buildings up to five storeys high and Anglian will begin work in the Cape Hill area of Smethwick, West Midlands.
